Final week Update

Drydocks Team claims the Championship Trophy of the SFBC League Bowling Tournament 2008 sponsored by Western Union.

 

Outstanding performance displayed by the Drydock keglers as they demolished the X Team 13-1 in the Final week of the Western Union Cup.

The Pin Wreckers and UIPS teams settled for second and third positions respectively.

Defending champion Storm Team managed to take the 4th position after defeating the Atkins Team.

 

Che Marquez and Jasmine Madrid of Drydocks Team are this week’s BOW awardees.





Week 16 Update

22 11 2008

One more week to go …. UIPS (120 pts.), Pinwreckers (119 pts.), Drydocks (118 pts.), only 2 points separates the top 3 teams.  

Who will emerge champion of the 2nd WESTERN UNION CUP?  

It’s the FINAL WEEK ON FRIDAY 28 Nov 2008 and it is not going to be a smooth ride for any of the contending teams as the top 3 teams face the top black horses of this tournament.

Week 15 Update

14 11 2008

UIPS hangs on to top spot despite a close match against Star team.  UIPS has a total of 111 points after defeating the star team 7-6.  Pinwreckers team with 109 points, narrows the UIPS’ lead margin to 2 points after defeating Remy’s Team 10-1.  Drydocks climbed to the third spot with 106 points after defeating the Atkins team 10-3. 

Western Union team with 104 points dropped to the fourth position while Tweeners team with 97 points placed itself on the fifth after defeating Ballantine’s team 10-2.

Kathleen Raymundo and Doc Ronnie Fabian are this week’s BOW awardees.





Week 14 Update

11 11 2008

UIPS Team with 104 points regains the top spot after defeating the Advantage Express Team 11-0.  UIPS team enjoys a 5 point lead over rival Pinwreckers team who slid to no. 2 after taking a beating from the X Team 7-2.  Western Union and Drydocks are still on a neck to neck race for the third position with 96 points each. 

BOW awardees for this week are Nellie Guerrero of Atkins Team and Rey Manalo of UIPS.

Week 13 Update

31 10 2008

Pin Wreckers holds on to the No.1 position after a close match with the Transformers 7-8.  The Pin Wreckers has a total of 95 points.  Trailing the Pinwreckers by only 2 points is the UIPS team with a total of 93 points.  UIPS defeated the absent 122 F team by default.  Western Union regained the third position with 89 points after defeating Advantage Express team 11 – 0.  Drydocks team also with 89 points is on 4th place.

BOW awardees for this week are Fuad Al Mas of UIPS team and Minda Meneses of Western Union team.  Fuad scored a series of 691 pinfalls while Minda scored a series of 640 pinfalls.

Week 12 Update

Pinwreckers takes the pole position on the 12th week of the SFBC bowling tournament.  John Calamlam and Norly Endaya led the assault on the Ramballs who simply cannot keep up with force of the team.  The pinwreckers has a total of 88 points.  Meanwhile, UIPS with 82 points slid down to no.2 after a defeat from the defending champion the Storm team.  The Drydocks team with 81 points, quietly sneaked to the no.3 position after defeating the Philsing team 10-1.  The Tweeners team with 80 points settled for the 4th position after defeating Cora’s Team.  Western Union Team is on 5th with 78 points.

Week 11 Update

11 10 2008

Nightmare – this word best describes what had happened last night to the aspiring teams of the SFBC 2nd conference bowling tournament.   With only 6 weeks remaining, it’s a make or break for the mid-positioned teams and they are ready to turn things around.

First to fall last night was the Ballantine’s team (last week’s no.3 team) who succumbed to the Pin wreckers 12 – 0.  Pinwreckers moved to the 2nd position with 77 pts. while Ballantine’s team found itself in the 8th position with 67 points.

The Storm team, who was no.2 last week, dropped all the way to the seventh position with 71 pts., after taking a beating from the X team 9 – 1.  Western Union moved to the 3rd position with 75 points after defeating the Transformers 8 – 0.  The Tweeners team shares the 4th position with Cora’s Team who cooled down the 122 Fahrenheit team.

UIPS clings to the no.1 position after a close match with the Remy’s Team 6 – 5.

Vicky Joquico of Coras’ Team and Jake Leonader of Ramballs are this week’s BOW.

6th UFB Invitational Tournament

4 10 2008

SFBC Male team emerged triumphant in the 6th UFB Invitational Bowling tournament which was held in Khalifa Center in Abu Dhabi. 

The SFBC male keglers won over the guest team composed of bowlers from Abu Dhabi and Dubai clubs.  AFBC bowlers settled for third place after losing to the guest team during their knockout match.

In the ladies’ division, ADFBC female bowlers took the championship trophy home after defeating the SFBC female bowlers in their stepladder match.  Abu Dhabi team A came out third after losing to the SFBC during the knock out match.

Present during the tournament is RP national bowler Biboy Rivera who is in the UAE on the invitation of Tito Ricky Esteban of SFBC.  SFBC takes this opportunity to thank Biboy in taking time out to be with the Filipino bowlers of the UAE. 

The host SFBC wishes to congratulate all the winners and thank the participating teams for the success of the 6th UFB Invitational Bowling Tournament.





Week 10 Update

27 09 2008

Team 122 degrees Fahrenheit was too hot for the Tweeners team to handle as the ex-champion team succumbed 2 – 9 to the new comers.  Meanwhile, UIPS took advantage of the Tweeners’ loss to recapture the no.1 spot in this tournament.  The UIPS team trampled the Transformers 10-0 and now has a total points of 72. 

Depending champion Storm Team starts to make its presence felt and is now on the second place with 70 points.  Ballantine’s team closely follows on third along with the Western Union Team and Tweeners team with 67 points a piece.

Week 9 Update

23 09 2008

Ex-champion team Tweeners is back to its old form as it demolished the Star Team 12 – 0 to grab the no.1 position in the 2nd conference of the SFBC Western Union Cup.  The Tweeners team with 65 points is closely followed by the UIPS Team with 62 points.  Meanwhile, Ballantine’s team is still on 3rd with 60 points along with depending champion Storm team and the Pin Wreckers.

This week’s BOW is awarded to Minda Meneses of Western Union team and PJ Vargas of the Storm Team.
