2nd UFB Invitational Games

The 2nd UFB invitational games hosted by DFBC will be played this Friday – 04 April 2008 at the Dubai Int’l Bowling Center.

SFBC – Western Union Cup follows at 7 PM after the invitational games.

Week 7 Update

Tweeners is still on top after the 7th week of the Western Union Cup with 63 points.  Trailing by 4 points is Remy’s Team at second position with 59 points while Storm Team keeps the 3rd slot with 55.  Closely behind is Chivas Regal team headed by Mar Magdaluyo with 53 points.

Mohd Al Mulla of Hassan Team unleashed another fired up series of 726 pinfalls to pindown Philsing team 9 – 4. Danny Torres of Western Union team and Terry Bernardo of Star Team emerged as the bowlers of the 7th week.

Week 6 Update

Tweeners team widens lead gap by defeating Hertz RAC 9 – 0.  Remy’s Team keeps trailing at second while EPSCO slipped into third. Drydocks still docked at the 4th position while Hertz RAC fell into the fifth spot.

Hassan Team’s Mohd Al Mulla led his team to 12 – 3 win over opposing team Dubai Dutyfree.  Al Mulla posted a new high series record of 791 pinfalls breaking his teammate Hussein Al suweidi’s 779. 

Mohd Al Mulla took the Bowler of the week award in the men’s division while Melinette Abustan of Atkins Team won BOW in the ladies’ division.

Congratulations to all the winners of the 1st UFB Invitational Games

The 1st UFB Invitational bowling tournament, held last Friday, March7 2008  at the Khalifa center in Abu Dhabi saw some outstanding performances from the Filipino bowlers of the UAE. 

In the ladies division, SFBC grabbed the championship trophy from the DFBC who enjoyed a twice-to-beat advantage being in the number 1 position after 4 games in the qualifying round.  DFBC ended up in second position while Abu Dhabi team ADBG took the third spot.

SFBC’s Raquel Hayes, Ging Aring, Rica Esteban, Virgie Villar, and Minda Meneses make up the champion team.

In the men’s division, ADFBC mastered the lanes to take the first and second positions, while DFBC took the third.

The tournament was organized by the Abu Dhabi Filipino Bowling Club.
